Insurance Findings

Hello everyone in Ren Faire Land! It's me, Martina. Just like you, I ran out of insurance when Ye Olde World went down, and did a bunch of research. Published here are the results.

Basically the promoter of your event should be covering you, but they are under pressure from their insurers to make you buy your own - which may or may not exist, and if it does is usually so highly priced that nobody can afford it.

If you are a high risk group with animals, archery or similar you should go back to the promoter and have them cover you. Several promoters do this, at NO COST TO THE PARTICIPANTS OR VENDORS. For the rest of us, here is the letter about the insurance quandary with sources for getting a policy. It is in PDF format. You need Adobe's Free Acrobat Reader to view these files.
